This week, we're diving into a comfort food that’s crispy, golden, and universally satisfying: the classic chicken schnitzel. Whether it reminds you of Friday night dinners at home or your favorite lunch date out, schnitzel holds a special place in kosher cooking,and for good reason.
Simple yet flavorful, chicken schnitzel is the kind of meal that brings people together. Crown Market Shopping List:
2 lbs. chicken cutlets
large eggs
Dijon mustard
Panko or seasoned kosher breadcrumbs
All-purpose flour
Vegetable oil
Kosher salt & freshly ground black pepper
Fresh lemons

Ingredients:
2 lbs. thin-sliced chicken cutlets
2 large eggs
2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
2 cups Panko or seasoned kosher breadcrumbs
1/2 cup All-purpose flour
Vegetable oil
Kosher salt & freshly ground black pepper
Fresh lemons
Makes 6 Servings, 15 Minutes
Instructions:
Set Up Your Breading Station:
Use three shallow bowls or pans:
Bowl 1: All-purpose flour
Bowl 2: Lightly beaten eggs mixed with 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard and black pepper
Bowl 3: Breadcrumbs (If using seasoned breadcrumbs, no need to add extra salt or pepper)
1. Bread the Chicken:
Dredge each chicken cutlet in flour, shaking off the excess.
Dip into the egg-mustard mixture.
Press into the breadcrumbs, coating evenly on both sides.
2. Fry to Crispy Perfection:
Heat about ¼ inch of vegetable oil in a large sauté pan to 375°F (hot but not smoking).
Cook cutlets 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
Place on a paper towel-lined baking sheet to absorb extra oil.
3. Serve & Enjoy:
Garnish with fresh lemon wedges.
Delicious with hummus, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce.
